Quits

Semi-annual bonuses will be distributed at the end of July. However, 5 people chose to quit BEFORE bonuses are distributed. I hope our company gets the message that morale is pretty low right now. All 5 people are great, but one is expecting me to talk about him on my blog, so here it goes:

Vernon - You are (almost) my favorite. I'll miss that little laugh of yours. Please keep in touch!

Oh Sweet Boyfriend

I left Charlotte on Wednesday at 5pm (with food poisoning) and got to my boyfriend's place in Boston 24 hours later with a 12-foot moving van and my mom's dog (I'm dogsitting).
He's going to kill me for writing this, but holy crap! The grass was knee high...and blooming! Now Brian's house is always nice when I visit, so I was pretty shocked and got a good laugh. However, the "laughs" continued when I walked inside to see dishes piled up in the kitchen, mail everywhere in the living and clothing strewn about in the bedroom. So I cleaned.

On Friday I booked a landscaper then went to the grocery store for dinner food. My girlfriends had no trouble mocking me over the phone and commenting on how Desperate Housewives I've already become. Oh well.

Friday was also the day I met a group from my Babson class. There were 5 students there as well as 3 significant others and 1 friend. All a great group and it leaves me excited to meet more.

When to start the blog

As is true with many people I'm just getting to know, life is about to change drastically between now and August. Among the changes include:
-moving in with my boyfriend in Boston,
-leaving Charlotte and selling my home,
-pursuing my MBA at Babson,
-and quitting my job.
At first I didn't think much of it, but now that I'm packing boxes, reality is starting to set in.

Therefore, I've decided to start this blog...right...about...now!

I love change and trying new things so this is pretty exciting. It'll be fun to look back on this blog at the end of two years and laugh at myself (which is probably a little too easy to do). Hopefully, this will also make it easy to keep in touch with current friends and family, serve as a space to vent when I'm about to go crazy, and make it easy for new friends to get to know who I am (which may not be a good thing).

Alright, here we go...
